How do I remote start using the Lincoln Way App or the key fob?

You can remote start your vehicle (from up to 300 feet away) using your key fob or the Lincoln Way®* App. For more information, follow the steps below.

Using the Lincoln Way

  1. Log in to Lincoln Way. 
  2. Select the Home icon.
  3. Press and hold the Start button to start your vehicle.
    • An alert will be displayed once your vehicle has started successfully.
    • The alert banner displays for 10 seconds. This feature will also inform you when your vehicle will automatically shut off.
  4. After selecting engine start, your vehicle can run for 5, 10, or 15 minutes before shutting off.

Note: The horn will sound if the system fails to start unless Quiet Start is on. Quiet Start runs the vehicle blower fan slower to reduce noise. It can be turned on or off using the information display.

Using the Key Fob

  1. Press the Lock button on your key fob to lock all the doors.
  2. Press the Remote Start button (2X) twice. Steps must be done within 3 seconds.
    • The turn signals will flash twice, and the vehicle will start.
    • For some vehicles, a light on your remote will let you know if your car has started.
    • All other vehicle systems remain off when you have remotely started the vehicle.
    • The parking lamps remain on, and your vehicle runs for 5, 10, or 15 minutes, depending on the setting available for your year and model vehicle. Refer to your Owner's Manual for Remote Start settings specific to your vehicle.

Notes:

  • Only use remote start when your vehicle is outside in a well-ventilated area.
  • You can enable or disable the remote start system through the information display. 
  • Check your local and state laws for any restrictions on remote start systems.

How can I personalize the remote start duration?

After remote starting, your vehicle can run for five, ten, or fifteen minutes before shutting off. This duration is configurable in your vehicle settings. If your vehicle fails to automatically shut off, you will be notified.
