How do I use Cruise Control* in my Lincoln?

The Cruise Control feature maintains a set vehicle speed without the need to keep your foot on the accelerator pedal. See below for instructions to use cruise control and different types of Cruise Control features.

Notes: 

  • Cruise Control is only available when your vehicle's speed exceeds 32 kilometres (km).
  • Refer to your Owner's Manual for more information about the feature.

Using Cruise Control

To set Cruise Control in your vehicle:

  1. Press the Cruise Control switch on your steering wheel** On. An indicator light eb5a1031-19e6-4d85-9b40-16254cd1f83d.png will appear on the vehicle's information display and will change colour to indicate system status.
  2. Drive at your desired speed.
  3. Press Set.
  4. Take your foot off the accelerator.

Your Cruise Control speed is now set. Pressing X on the steering wheel or applying the brake pedal will cancel Cruise Control. 

Cruise Control Feature Types

The table below provides general information about different types of Cruise Control features. 

Cruise Control Feature Type Description
Adaptive Cruise Control

Adaptive Cruise Control allows your vehicle to reduce speed in response to traffic conditions and return to the set speed once conditions improve.

Adaptive Cruise Control provides:

  • Advanced radar technology is used to monitor traffic ahead and scan for slower vehicles.
  • The ability to:
    • Maintain a safe distance between vehicles.
    • Return to the speed you set with the Cruise Control system.
Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop And Go Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go allows your vehicle to maintain a preset speed and distance from a vehicle driving in front of you. It will ensure the vehicle comes to a complete stop when needed.
Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control  Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control adjusts the cruise set speed to the speed limit detected by the vehicle's Speed Sign Recognition system. For example, if the speed sign recognition system detects a 80 kph speed limit, the Cruise Control speed updates to 80 kph.
