How do I turn off automatic Software Updates?
Lincoln recommends that you set automatic Software Updates on. However, if you want to know the details prior to the update, you can turn off Automatic Updates using the in-vehicle SYNC screen.
Important: Automatic Software Updates are only available for Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 4.
Identify Your Lincoln's SYNC Generation
There are two resources to help you identify your vehicle's SYNC generation:
- The SYNC and Navigation Updates page. Either:
- Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and select Check for update.
Log in with your Lincoln credentials, choose a vehicle from your garage, and select Check for updates.
Note: Your SYNC generation will appear on the right-hand side of the page.
- The SYNC Visual Reference Guide, which provides example images of SYNC generations that Lincoln has offered.
Turn Off Automatic Updates
To turn off Automatic Updates:
- Tap Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Select System Updates.
- Toggle the Automatic Updates option to Off. A confirmation pop-up will appear.
- Confirm Continue.
