How do I lock and unlock my Lincoln vehicle remotely?
You can use the Lincoln Way™* App, your smartwatch, or your key fob to remotely lock and unlock your vehicle. See the instructions below for more details.
Important:
- Lincoln Way Remote Commands are not substitutes for having your key fob on hand. You should not leave your key fob at home or inside your vehicle.
- Your vehicle still requires the presence of a key to put it in drive (D).
Remote lock/unlock is not a standard feature for all vehicles. The following conditions must be met:
- Your vehicle must be added to the Lincoln Way App.
- Your vehicle must have the Lincoln Connect®** embedded modem.
- Your modem must be activated.
Locking or Unlocking Your Vehicle

Using Lincoln Way
- Open the Lincoln Way App.
- Go to the Vehicle screen.
- Tap the Lock or Unlock icon.
The request will load, your vehicle status will change, and a green check mark will appear on the icon you selected.
Using Your Apple®Watch
- Open Lincoln Way on your watch screen.
- Select your vehicle.
- Scroll down to the second screen.
- Press the Lock or Unlock icon.
Once the command is successful, a green check will replace the icon.
Using Your Android®Smartwatch
- Open Lincoln Way on your smartwatch screen.
- Select your vehicle.
- Swipe left to the second screen.
- Press the Lock or Unlock icon.
Once the command is successful, a green check will replace the icon.
Using Your Key Fob
Select the Lock or Unlock button on your key fob.
