How do I set up Phone As A Key with the Lincoln Way App?
You can set up Phone As A Key™* on your Lincoln Way™ App** with the setup steps below.
Phone As A Key Requirements
To use Phone As A Key with your Lincoln Way App, you must meet the requirements below:
- Phone As A Key is available for your vehicle.
- You have added your vehicle to the Lincoln Way.
- Your Lincoln Connect® modem† is activated.
- Your vehicle's Connectivity Settings are turned on.
- Your mobile device's Bluetooth® is enabled and running version 4.2 or greater.
- You have a supported mobile device running:
- iOS® 16.0 and later.
- Android™ 8.0 and later.
- Facial recognition, fingerprint recognition, or a passcode is set up on your mobile device.
Setting up Phone As A Key
Select your Lincoln Way experience from the drop-down options below to learn how to set up Phone As A Key.
Note: Instructions may vary. Refer to your Owner’s Manual for information specific to your vehicle.
Lincoln Way 4.X Experience
- Log in to the Lincoln Way App.
- Go to the Home screen.
- Select Setup Phone as a Key.
- Choose Set Up Now.
- Tap Continue when the User Authentication screen displays.
- Authenticate your request using either facial recognition, fingerprint scanning, or passcode/Personal Identification Number (PIN).
Note: If you have not set a method of security on your device, Lincoln Way will request that you create a passcode in your Settings app.
- Name your key after the authentication is complete.
Note: Special characters are not allowed and the maximum key length is 16 characters.
- Select Next. Your key will begin to download.
- Tap Copy and Continue to save your Temporary Bluetooth Passcode.
- Paste or manually enter your code when the pairing notification appears and prompts you to enter your code.
- Choose Pair or Ok.
- Select Ok once the Success screen displays.
- Create Your Backup Passcode.
Once the Phone As A Key setup is complete, you should see the additional controls on the Home screen.
Lincoln Way 5.X Experience
- Log in to the Lincoln Way App.
- Go to the Vehicle screen.
- Tap Setup in the Make this Phone a Key box.
- Choose Pair Device. A prompt for Bluetooth access will appear.
- Confirm Ok to continue. The key download will begin.
Note: If you tap Don't Allow, the setup process will end.
- Select Copy on the next pop-up.
- Paste your code.
- Tap Pair or Ok.
- Create Your Backup Passcode.
