How do I use the SelectShift Automatic Transmission in my Lincoln?

The six-speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission* (if equipped) allows you to choose between fully automatic shifting or semi-automatic. Review the instructions below to learn how to use your SelectShift Automatic Transmission.

Using SelectShift

Note: Instructions may vary. Refer to your Owner’s Manual for information specific to your vehicle.

  1. Put your transmission into Sport (S) mode.
  2. Pull the:
    • Right paddle marked with a + to upshift.
    • Left paddle marked with a - to downshift.

Even though you are manually changing gears, SelectShift will automatically shift for you if your engine speed is too high or your RPM are too low.
