Which SYNC®* Navigation map version do I have?

You can find the map version with your SYNC system using the instructions found in this article.

Finding Your SYNC Navigation Map Version

Important: Ensure your vehicle is on and running in a well-ventilated area and in Park (P).

Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to find your current Navigation map version.

Notes: 

  • If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option.
  • Map versions are not available SYNC 4. They are included with your vehicle's Software Updates.
  • Actual screens may vary. See your Owner’s Manual for information specific to your vehicle.

Identifying Your Vehicle's SYNC Generation

Two resources to help you identify your vehicle's SYNC generation are the:

SYNC 3

SYNC 3 systems have the Navigation map data stored inside the SYNC 3 module. To check your current map version:

  1. Press Settings on your SYNC screen.
  2. Select General.
  3. Tap About SYNC

Your Navigation map version will be displayed.

SYNC with MyLincoln Touch®

SYNC with MyLincoln Touch uses an SD card to store the Navigation map data. To check your current version:

  1. Press Menu.
  2. Select Help.
  3. Tap System Information.

Your Navigation map version will be displayed (a letter followed by a number).

SYNC with Voice-Activated Navigation

Next-Generation Navigation

To find your map version with Next-Generation Navigation:

  1. Press the hard button.
  2. Choose System Info.

The map version will be displayed (a number followed by the letter X).

Navigation "P" Version

To find your map version with Navigation "P" Version:

  1. Press the Menu hard button.
  2. Select System Info.

The map version will be in the lower right corner (a number followed by the letter P).
