Use the Tire Inflator and Sealant Kit

What is the Tire Inflator and Sealant Kit in my Lincoln?

If your vehicle has a flat tire, your Tire Inflator and Sealant Kit can provide you with a temporary repair instead of using a spare tire. Once repaired, check your Owner's Manual or the kit itself for guidance on speed and distance limitations, then head directly to your Lincoln Retailer or Ford Dealer to repair or replace the tire.

Important: If you have a puncture in the sidewall of your tire or a puncture larger than 0.24 inches, contact Lincoln Roadside Assistance.

To use your Tire Inflator and Sealant Kit, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the valve cap and fasten the hose to the sealant port, by turning the connector clockwise to tighten it.
  2. Plug the power cable into the 12-volt outlet.
  3. Remove the warning sticker and turn the dial to "sealant" position. Place the warning sticker in a safe space you can view while driving (e.g., the top of your instrument panel or the centre of your dash) as a reminder to adhere to the speed and distance limitations.
  4. Turn the kit on and inflate your tire to the proper pressure specified on your Safety Certification Label, which is located inside the driver’s side doorjamb.
  5. Turn off the kit, unplug the power cable, and disconnect the hose from your tire, and replace the valve cap.
  6. Drive five miles to evenly distribute sealant and then recheck pressure. Add more air if needed.

If the tire does not inflate to the proper tire pressure within 15 minutes, contact Lincoln Roadside Assistance.
